SpamCop How-To
- Go to http://spamcop.net/anonsignup.shtml
- Enter your name and email address in the text boxes above the button labeled "Send authorization email", and click the button when finished.
- Check your email - you should have an email waiting with the subject "SpamCop authorization". Click on the link that says Cookie Login and enter the username and password into the form at the top.
- Look for the text 'Forward your spam to:' on the web page - it will immediately be followed by an address that looks something like this: submit.xsiWVeYd5OiYVgvX@spam.spamcop.net Add this account to your address book and label it 'SpamCop'.
- That's it! Now all you have to do is forward any spam messages you receive to your SpamCop address. NOTE: You MUST include FULL email headers when reporting spam! (click here for information on displaying headers of received email.)
- A few minutes after you forward your spam on, you will receive an email with the subject "SpamCop has accepted 1 email for processing" Click the hyperlink in the email prompting you to finish reporting the spam.
- Scroll to the bottom and click the button "Send Spam Report(s) Now" A report is automatically sent to the originator of the unsolicited mail. Your contribution will help rid the Internet of this ongoing junk mail. Thank you!
